Muslim Personalities Series


The Islamic Texts Society’s Muslim Personalities Series is dedicated to the lives of major figures who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of Islamic civilisation and culture. The Series will present short, scholarly introductions to the biography, ideas and impact of these figures, locating them in their time and tracing their influence over the ages. It will cover not just religious scholars and philosophers, but also architects, poets, and polymaths. The aim of the series is to provide accessible works for both the student and the interested reader, works that represent state-of-the-art research and promote further investigation. Below is the first title to appear in the Series and forthcoming titles will be dedicated to: Shafi’i, Tabari, Farabi, Avicenna and Mulla Sadra.
